Wantaway West Ham loan star Nikola Vlasic has posted a cryptic passage on social media as talk intensifies over his departure.

It is fair to say Vlasic is enjoying contrasting fortunes in the claret of another club this season.

The Croatian failed to establish himself at West Ham under David Moyes last term following a £26m move.

And he was shipped out on loan to Serie A side Torino this summer with the Italian club also having the option to make the move permanent.

Many West Ham fans felt Vlasic was not given a fair crack of the whip in his preferred central number 10 role.

Vlasic’s performances in that very role on loan at Torino are giving credence to that theory.

It has been a hugely positive loan spell in Italy thus far for Vlasic. So much so Torino and Milan are said to want to sign him on a permanent basis.

The 25-year-old is has bagged three goals and two assists in 13 outings for his club so far and laid on the winner for his side in the victory over Milan last weekend.

There has been speculation a permanent deal for Vlasic will be hammered out in the January window to raise an expected £13.5m.

One West Ham insider has refuted those claims this week, highlighting that it would make little financial sense for the Hammers (6foot2).

Vlasic recently said he feels ‘free and trusted again’ after leaving West Ham for Torino.

According to a report from Toro News, Vlasic is anxious to get his permanent exit from the London Stadium sorted as soon as possible.

And if it was up to him, he would have already left West Ham for Torino on a permanent deal.

Now wantaway West Ham loan star Vlasic has posted a cryptic passage on social media as talk intensifies over his departure.

In his first post on Twitter for nine months, the on loan Hammer simply uploaded a picture of a quote from the book The Alchemist.

“My heart is afraid that it will have to suffer,” the boy told the alchemist one night as they looked up at the moonless sky.

“Tell your heart that the fear of suffering is worse than the suffering itself. And that no heart has ever suffered when it goes in search of its dreams, because every second of the search is a second’s encounter with God and with eternity.”

For those who have not read The Alchemist, it is a novel essentially about discovering one’s destiny and never losing faith.

The central idea of the tale is that all individuals should live in the singular pursuit of their individual dreams.

So it could well be that this particular passage has struck a chord with Vlasic as he contemplates his own dreams and hopes amid the interest in him while on loan from West Ham.

The playmaker will be involved as Torino play Bologna, Sampdoria and Roma in the next week.

He will then head off to the World Cup with Croatia where he will meet West Ham and Morocco star Nayef Aguerd in their first clash of the tournament.
