Sir Jim Ratcliffe has been spotted, arriving at Old Trafford, as takeover talks continue…
Manchester United are currently for sale. The Old Trafford club, who have been under Glazer ownership for the best part of two-decades, may well have new owners come the start of the new season.
It’s what United fans have been asking for. The Glazer regime hasn’t gone too well, both from a footballing standpoint and also what’s happening behind the scenes.
Right now, there’s two main frontrunners; Qatar and Sir Jim.
The Qatari bidders had representatives at Old Trafford for several hours yesterday, while today, it’s Sir Jim’s turn. He and his Ineos delegation were met by United’s chief executive, Richard Arnold, to continue talks in regard to a potential takeover.
It was @DanRoan with the footage, and you can clearly see that Sir Jim was greeted by Arnold as those talks set to resume today.
At this point, everyone has their preferred buyer. Honestly, I’d be happy either way. United need to move in a different direction – though it has to be someone with a big budget.
Old Trafford is falling down, while the balance sheet isn’t as healthy as it once was. Obviously, money has to be continued to be spent on the playing squad while United’s momentum is moving in the right direction.
Sir Jim clearly feels he can do that, while the Qatari bid is more lucrative from an investment standpoint, I feel like both would be able to take us forward as a club.
At the end of the day, that’s all we want as fans. Someone who cares about the club as much as we do.
