Negotiations are already underway, and Valencia are hoping for a loan with an option to buy. Montpellier are looking to make it an obligation to buy, but there is reportedly room for the two clubs to reach a compromise.
Mavididi struggled with injury problems at the start of the current campaign, and it took until October for him to make his first appearance lasting longer than an hour.
The English 24-year-old has made eight starts in total this season, usually playing out on the wing, but he hasn’t scored in any of them so far. He was dropped to the bench this weekend against FC Nantes.
Mavididi is certainly capable of contributing in forward areas, after he hit 11 goal contributions in Ligue 1 last season. With his form currently stalling, perhaps a change of scenery is the best thing for him.
Valencia have experience with Arsenal academy graduates, having also signed Yunus Musah to great effect.
Sitting 12th in La Liga at the time of writing, Valencia could do with a boost in attack. If they can secure a deal for Mavididi, it could be an opportunity for both parties to turn the season around.
