Manchester United will be in Premier League action at Fulham on Sunday evening which will be their final game before the World Cup break.

Ahead of the encounter, manager Erik ten Hag will ring in the changes, having rested a number of regulars in the 4-2 win over Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup third round.

The likes of David de Gea, Luke Shaw, Lisandro Martinez, Casemiro and Christian Eriksen should return to the starting line-up. However, Ten Hag won’t have Diogo Dalot’s services.

The Portugal international has started in each of United’s 20 games this campaign but won’t be available to face the Cottagers after accumulating five yellow cards in the league.

He will be serving a one-game suspension as a result. In his absence, let’s have a look at three first-team stars that could take his position against the west London side.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka

The 24-year-old is a natural replacement for Dalot in the right-back position but the big question is whether Ten Hag will pick him.

Wan-Bissaka has played just four minutes of competitive football this season and was not even in the matchday squad last night.

The former Crystal Palace man could return to the bench on Sunday, but we just don’t see him starting against Marco Silva’s side.

Victor Lindelof

Lindelof is more than capable of operating from the right-back role. He has done so on 20 occasions in his career – six times for United.

However, Ten Hag may want his services at the heart of the defence alongside Lisandro Martinez at Craven Cottage this weekend.

Harry Maguire has been lacking rhythm since his injury comeback and looked all over the place against Aston Villa on Thursday night.

Tyrell Malacia

We have already seen a couple of occasions this season where Malacia and Luke Shaw have played together in the second half.

Malacia switched to right-back against Sheriff back in September and there was a similar repeat against the same opposition last month.

Ten Hag clearly trusts Malacia over Wan-Bissaka. His better attacking attributes could see him start in a makeshift role on Sunday.
