Antonio Conte gives clear verdict on his Tottenham Hotspur future
In what will come as good news to the ears of Tottenham Hotspur fans, Antonio Conte has revealed that he wants to continue at the north London club.
Conte sees his current contract expire in June and there have been many speculations about his future. The Italian took charge of the club in January this year and helped them qualify for the Champions League by finishing fourth on the table.
Now, speaking to the press ahead of his side’s game against Leeds United this Saturday as quoted in the Daily Mail, the gaffer gave his thoughts on the contract situation.
“I think when you start a path with a club, the dream is to stay here for many years and try to build something important.”
There is no doubt this will come as good news to the fans and perhaps to the management also. Conte is one of the best coaches in the world and if Spurs want to be a top club, they need a man like the Italian at the helm.
Daniel Levy backed Conte this summer and the club bought in some good signings. The north London club got off to a very good start, although they seem to have hit a dip in form in their past few games.
Spurs have lost back-to-back games in two different competitions and currently sit fourth on the table with 26 points, eight behind leaders and rivals Arsenal. Things have been much better in Europe, with Conte’s side finishing top of their Champions League group.
Conte also revealed that he is yet to have a talk with Levy or Fabio Paratici about the first half of the season, but he has done a terrific job so far and it is highly unlikely that the upper management will have any problems with the coach.
