Jesse Lingard would allegedly prefer to join West Ham United amidst interest from Tottenham Hotspur and Everton.

That’s according to a report from talkSPORT who claim that a move to the London Stadium is Lingard’s first choice as the Hammers, Tottenham and Everton chase his signature.

The 29-year-old was absolutely sensational for West Ham during a four-month loan spell with the club during the second half of the 2020/21 season but David Moyes’s drawn out pursuit of him has become rather tiresome.

One Player To Watch For All 32 World Cup Teams

The Scot is clearly a huge fan of Jesse and recently described him as an ‘incredible’ player (Claret and Hugh).

The thing is, either Lingard wants to join West Ham or he doesn’t.

There is no reason why this transfer saga should be taking as long as it has done. It seems as though the 29-year-old does have a preference of where he wants to be playing next season though…

Jesse Lingard has made a decision on his future

The 32-capped England international is now a free agent after his contract officially expired with Manchester United on Friday.

And Lingard allegedly wants to join West Ham as a free agent, rather than Tottenham or Everton this summer according to a report from talkSPORT.

The key here though is to move quickly and efficiently for Jesse. And if it is made clear that the 29-year-old isn’t in a rush to commit to the Hammers, then we should just move on to alternative targets.

Everyone involved with West Ham understands just how much Lingard can add to Moyes’s team. So it’s little wonder why the Scot is so desperate to bring him back to the London Stadium this summer.

He bagged nine goals and four assists in just 16 Premier League games with us 18 months ago.

Lingard will be 30 in December and that is our only reservation about him returning to the London Stadium. Will he be as hungry to prove himself as he was during his loan spell with the Hammers?

Does the 29-year-old still harbour ambitions of forcing his way back into Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the World Cup in Qatar? Only time will tell.

If David Moyes brings Jesse Lingard back to West Ham on a free transfer, at least the risk will be minimal. And as mentioned earlier, if we get this one done quickly, then we’ll be more than happy to see Jesse back in the Claret and Blue.
