West Ham United are allegedly demanding £20 million from Fulham for centre-back Issa Diop this summer.
That’s according to Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth who claims that talks are continuing between the two clubs regarding the potential transfer of Issa Diop.
So some common ground clearly needs to be found between the two London clubs.
In all fairness, if West Ham get anywhere near £20 million for Diop it would be a miracle.
Whether that happens though remains to be seen…
Fulham in talks with West Ham for Issa Diop
After arriving at the London Stadium in the summer of 2018 for around £25 million (The Express), Diop was one of the very best central defenders in the Premier League during his debut season.
The 25-year-old, who earns around £63k-a-week according to Football League FC, experienced a poor 2020/21 campaign though and was nowhere near his best last season either.
The 6ft 4in defender really hasn’t been great for West Ham at all over the past two years in all fairness.
He clearly isn’t good enough to be playing regular Premier League football – not for the Hammers anyway.
And it seems as though Issa Diop could be set to join Fulham from West Ham, if the two clubs can agree on a transfer fee, according to Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth:
In my opinion, £15 million for the 25-year-old would be a good deal for West Ham.
The 6ft 4in centre-back has played just 50 Premier League games under David Moyes in two-and-a-half years (Transfermarkt). So it’s clear to see that the Scot isn’t a big fan of him.
With Nayef Aguerd’s arrival at the London Stadium, the ex-Toulouse defender faces a bleak future with West Ham.
However, it remains to be seen whether Fulham meet the Hammers’ demands for Issa Diop.
