Declan Rice named Yves Bissouma in the top five he has faced and now West Ham must sign him after a big claim from The Times.
West Ham are allegedly in the race to sign the Brighton midfielder in the summer transfer window.
David Moyes desperately needs to strengthen central midfield as part of a big rebuild at West Ham this summer.
A report from 90 Min claims the Hammers want Brighton star Bissouma to form what would be a mouthwatering partnership with Declan Rice.
West Ham reportedly face competition from the likes of Aston Villa, Tottenham and Arsenal for the 25-year-old’s signature this summer.
90 Min claim the 25-year-old Mali international is on West Ham’s radar ahead of the opening of the summer transfer window on June 10th.
Declan Rice named Yves Bissouma in top five he has faced now West Ham must sign him after big claim from The Times
Rice named Bissouma in the top five he has faced and now West Ham must sign him after a big claim from The Times.
Speaking in an interview with BT Sport last season, West Ham talisman Rice said Bissouma was in the top five midfielders he has faced.
He also named Bernardo Silva, Mateo Kovacic, Rodri and Paul Pogba on the list.
“He’s a real, real great player,” Rice told BT Sport about Bissouma.
“Obviously when you play against him, you see what he’s like. Obviously he’s a holding midfielder but he wins the ball, he’s strong in the tackle, brings the ball forward, finds passes, he’s got a little flairy side to him as well and obviously he’s had a solid season again this year and he did last season as well.
“He’s real consistent.”
Now West Ham must try to get the top class midfield ace signed after a big claim from The Times that Brighton are willing to sell him for £30 million.
The Times reports that Bissouma, who only has a year left on his contract, “is expected to cost around £30 million”.
That is a bargain in the modern market for a player of Bissouma’s quality. West Ham cannot afford to let one of their rivals such as Villa or Tottenham beat them to his signature.
There was excitement this week when Bissouma appeared to drop a big West Ham hint by adding the crossed hammers emoji to his bio on social media and deleting all his Brighton related images.
Bissouma has been one of the standout performers in the Premier League this season.
With his energy, incredible drive, tenacious tackling and impressive array of passing, Bissouma seems to have all of the ingredients needed to become one of the very best box-to-box midfielders in the game.
A partnership with Rice would also free up Tomas Soucek to get back to his preferred role as an attacking threat for West Ham.
