Yes you read that correctly West Ham and Chelsea fans. And no it is not April 1st.
If you didn’t believe Chelsea’s recruitment was random and scattergun since the arrival of Todd Boehly’s consortium then you may be about to change your mind.
Because West Ham have rejected an utterly bizarre offer from desperate Chelsea for Antonio.
Antonio is a completely spent force at Premier League level and his form for the Hammers has been woeful for over a year now.
But that has not put Chelsea off it seems as they look to hoover up as many players as possible while they have the chance.
The scarcely believable claim suggests that the suspension of new arrival Joao Felix has prompted Chelsea to ask West Ham about Antonio’s availability.
The report claims the offer was rejected by West Ham who have no intention of loaning out the soon to be 33-year-old.
It is claimed West Ham would be open to cashing in on Antonio should a club come forward with a permanent transfer offer, though.
Jamaica international Antonio has also been linked with Wolves – who dumped West Ham into the relegation zone with a 1-0 win on Saturday.
Stop the vote ladies and gentleman we have a winner in the most ridiculous transfer move of the January window.
Antonio was awful again for West Ham as he got a start in the defeat at Wolves.
He has recently made it clear he is not happy at losing his Hammers place to £35m summer signing Gianluca Scamacca.
But the misfiring forward has done nothing to justify his belief he should be starting.
Chelsea moving for Antonio is made all the more ridiculous when you consider the fact the Blues have loaned OUT Romelu Lukaku to Inter Milan.
This is the most head’s gone transfer story for some time.
