Arsenal 19-year-old recently returned from injury to start the final two games of the u23s’ campaign, having been absent for the whole of 2022 up until April 22nd.

A very disrupted campaign has limited Taylor-Hart to just a couple of goals and an assist, despite his obvious talent.

The winger will want to play more consistently next season, but he argues he’d be best off doing so on loan, rather than back with the academy.

“I want to go on loan,” Taylor-Hart said to Football.London. “I think that will help me, rather than staying with the under-23s. I know for some people it’s better to stay but for me anyways I think that will help me grow.

“I think that would be better for me. It’s men’s football. I think it can teach you some things that the under-23s can’t teach you.”

When he was playing regular football in 2020/21, Taylor-Hart was the Arsenal academy’s top scorer, with 11 goals between his appearances for the u18s and the u23s on top of five assists.

His performances late in the season were key to the u23s avoiding relegation, which has allowed them to push on and fight at the top end of the Premier League 2 this year.

Taylor-Hart’s last contract with Arsenal came to an end after that, sparking a couple of months of uncertainty while he was out of contract.

Eventually, he signed a new three-year deal with the club last August, saying at the time that as an Arsenal fan himself he hopes to play for the first team someday.

Perhaps the next step on that road is to go out on loan and show what he can do in the senior game.
