Martin Dubravka – Had a fairly quiet evening. Couldn’t do anything about the Watkins goal. 6/10

Diogo Dalot – Unfortunately put the ball into his own net to restore Villa’s lead. Couldn’t get into the game in an attacking capacity. 5/10

Harry Maguire – Getting some pre-World Cup minutes under his belt. Did his job decently enough. Always feel uneasy watching him and Lindelof, though. 5/10

Victor Lindelof – Looked nervy at times. Positionally hit and miss. 4/10

Tyrell Malacia – Like many of his teammates, he kind of coasted through this one. Didn’t do enough to threaten Shaw’s league starting spot. 5/10

Fred – Not his best outing. Gave it away cheaply from some promising positions. Often played it backwards. 4/10

Scott McTominay – The game sort of passed him by. He wasn’t bad, nor good. Just average. Rattled the bar late before wrapping up the win in added time. 5/10

Donny van de Beek – Struggled again. Had fewer completed passes than Dubravka in the first 45. Just didn’t threaten the Villa defence from the #10 position. 2/10

Bruno Fernandes – Shifted over to the right-hand side to accommodate Van de Beek. Is far less threatening from out there. Moved central. Scored within minutes. 6/10

Marcus Rashford – Showed real desire to make it 2-2. Consistently threatened the Villa back line. 6/10

Anthony Martial – Nice to see him back out there. Marked his return with a goal. 6/10

Subs:

Alejandro Garnacho Constantly threatened with his pace and skill. Picked up an assist for the McTominay goal. Looked outstanding.

Anthony Elanga – Stretched the Villa back line with his speed.

Christian Eriksen – Kept it simple and ensured United had a grip of the game in midfield.

Casemiro – Brought on to bring some extra protection to the back line.

Lisandro Martinez – Given 10 minutes to help see out the win.
