Nemanja Matic has seemingly decided on his next club when he leaves Man United.

Manchester United have already announced some major departures this summer. The Old Trafford side is going to look awfully different in 2022/23.

Erik ten Hag will have a master plan in the works, in regards to how he wants this team to look going forward.

One man we know who will not be involved is Nemanja Matic. The Serb is out of contract this summer, choosing to move away from the Red Devils rather than staying here in Manchester.

Well, Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that the United veteran is now set to leave, while also revealing his new club; AS Roma.

Matic ‘will sign a contract’ with the Italian giant for the 2022/23 term. Once again reuniting with Jose Mourinho.

The Serbia international is wanted due to his wealth of experience at both Chelsea and United, while also Mourinho is 100% familiar with what the experienced midfielder can offer.

Honestly, fair play to Matic. He absolutely leaves with the utmost respect of every single United fan. The ex-Chelsea man always gave his all – more often than not showing up when we needed him the most.

At this stage of his career, it’s doubtful Matic was going to be a regular starter under Ten Hag, hence why this feels like the correct decision for all the involved parties.

Matic can still do a job at the highest level, but not on a regular basis. There’s no way at age 34, he can play three games in a week, but Mourinho will no doubt love working with the Serbian yet again.

Best of luck, Nemanja!
