Jadon Sancho hasn’t been good enough for Man United, according to ex-Red, Peter Schmeichel.

Manchester United fans were rightly excited when Jadon Sancho finally became a Manchester United player after many years at trying to sign the Englishman.

Borussia Dortmund earned a £70m+ transfer fee to let Sancho leave. No doubt they were pleased after only paying £8m to sign him from Manchester City.

Under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Sancho struggled for any sort of consistency. He was in and out of the team, playing in a variety of different positions and roles.

Erik ten Hag offered the winger a more consistent berth on that right-hand side of the attack in the early portion of the season, though when Antony arrived, Sancho started to struggle again.

Now, one ex-Red in the form of Peter Schmeichel has stated that the United star hasn’t ‘done enough’ since the big-money move to Old Trafford. The Great Dane also admitted he has been ‘disappointed’ with what we’ve seen from the attacker so far.

Check out what Schmeichel had to say on Sancho here:

“I don’t think he’s done enough.” Schmeichel said live on Sky Sports, per the MEN.

“I’m a little bit disappointed with the talent that he has, and yes it’s difficult to come to Old Trafford with that price tag, I understand that. But he’s shown that he can do whatever he did at Borussia Dortmund, he just hasn’t done it enough.”

Honestly, it’s the consistency that has plagued Sancho. He’s an immense talent. We saw that on full display at Dortmund, with all the goals and assists he scored.

However, if you’re weighing it up against the big money paid for Sancho, then you can only be left feeling a little disappointed with the overall output.

Whether he can turn it around remains to be seen. He’s still young and learning this Ten Hag system. We have seen flashes of brilliance. It’s just about doing that with regularity.

The problem Sancho may have is breaking into the team. I don’t see him displacing Antony or Marcus Rashford any time soon…
