One man who has actually benefitted from the recent Cristiano Ronaldo interview is Diogo Dalot, with the right-back coming in for praise…

Manchester United Football Club have been rocked by the latest, sensational interview from Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Portugal international has launched a scathing attack on the club that gave him so much. Largely, it felt uncalled for. Why go after Erik ten Hag? Why insult the fans this way? If you want to leave, just say so.

Anyway, I digress. One man who benefitted from the interview? His teammate, Diogo Dalot.

Ronaldo was actually full of praise for the United star Dalot in the interview, admitting that he is ‘very professional’ and also ‘smart’. The 37-year-old also gave a mention to Lisandro Martinez and Casemiro, but it was clear he felt strongly about Dalot.

Check out what Ronaldo had to say on Dalot in full here:

“In Manchester United I can mention Dalot, he’s young, but very professional but I don’t doubt that he’s going to have longevity in football.” Ronaldo told Piers Morgan, quoted by the MEN.

“Because he’s young, he’s smart, intelligent and he’s very professional. Probably [Lisandro] Martinez, Casemiro is in his 30s, but I will say Dalot.”

This is obviously a really nice feeling for Dalot. He’s well-respected by arguably the greatest player to ever lace up a pair of football boots.

However, I cannot help but think this is partly due to the fact they’ve always been dressing room pals and international colleagues.

Dalot has only really started to prove his worth within the last year or so. Let’s be honest, his time at United was pretty below average until Ralf Rangnick started placing some serious trust in the Portuguese.

We’re now seeing the absolute best from the ex-Porto man. That’s thanks to Ten Hag. Y’know, the gaffer who Ronaldo has no respect for…?

It’s just a weird situation. Though if Dalot can use this as a positive, then at least something good is going to come out of this interview.

Do you think Man United have a new permanent right-back in Diogo Dalot? Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below.
