Ben Jacobs of CBS Sports reports that Arsenal remain confident and on course to sign Youri Tielemans before the end of June.

Tottenham Hotspur were also seemingly in the race, but Jacobs reports that their interest was never advanced, and their move for Yves Bissouma is allaying fears they could attempt to hijack a Tielemans deal.

Tielemans’ signing is a top priority for Mikel Arteta, and Jacobs adds that personal terms are not an issue. It’s just about working out a fee with Leicester, expected to be between £25m and 34m – no higher.

Belgian outlet HLN report that there are those at Arsenal who are convinced they can complete a deal for Tielemans fairly quickly after the conclusion of the recent international break.

Goal’s Charles Watts also recently claimed that Arsenal feel they’re in a good position for the player.

Tielemans impressed on international duty this week, providing an assist in each of the two games against Poland and scoring against Wales.

The Telegraph’s John Percy wrote that Arteta is pushing Arsenal to make an opening £25m bid for Tielemans. The club’s head of UK scouting has consistently been watching the midfielder throughout the current campaign.

But Percy added that Leicester could demand a fee of over £30m, despite Tielemans’ deal running down in 2023.

Tielemans scored seven goals and provided five assists in 50 games for Leicester City in all competitions this season, with 10 of those goal contributions coming in his 32 Premier League games.
