Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has said that Anthony Martial is unlikely to be available for Sunday’s FA Cup quarter-final against Fulham at Old Trafford.

The Frenchman has been training with the first-team squad over the past two weeks after his hip concern, but he has yet to make his return to the matchday squad.

Martial was left out of the travelling squad for the 1-0 Europa League win at Real Betis and Ten Hag has now said that he won’t be available for the Fulham game.

However, the Dutch tactician was hopeful that Antony could be involved. The Brazilian missed the recent trip to Seville with an illness and he is likely to be assessed.

He told Manutd.com: “So we have to talk about [it] and I think Anthony Martial will not be available and Antony dos Santos, we have to see how he will progress.”

Martial running out of time to save his United career

Martial has registered six goals and two assists from just 720 minutes this season. He has been impressive when on the pitch but has simply failed to stay injury free.

The Frenchman has missed 30 games for United with setbacks this campaign and in our opinion, he is now running out of time to save his career with the club.

Ten Hag has previously described Martial as a ‘really important‘ player in the squad but he may not stay patient with him if he cannot prove his match fitness.

United are expected to sign a marquee striker in the next transfer window while there is a good possibility that Wout Weghorst could join on a permanent basis.

If Martial continues to struggle with his fitness, he could be shown the exit door this summer.
